"TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED."

In this section I will share with you the charitable organizations that I am involved with as well as to recognise others. I will also highlight some wonderful organizations who may need help with visibility and long due recognition. I hope to use this site as a platform to inform and as an Internet community I hope you will share with us your suggestions and comments. Don't forget to also visit my Charity Links section.

I am deeply honoured that the National Urban League awarded me on November 9th,1999 with their Humanitarian Award.

From Vogue Magazine December 1992:
To raise international consciousness of her country's plight, former model Iman journeys home for the first time in twenty years. Here, the diary of her effort "to give pain a face".

Read the intimate conversation between Iman and her fellow African-Native super-model, Alek Wek, as printed in SCENE Magazine.

In 1997, Iman hosted a benefit for the Children's Defense Fund's Black Community Crusade for Children.

Batoto Yetu (Swahili for 'Our Children'), is a Harlem-Based non-profit group which uses native African dance, music and storytelling to teach children about their African heritage.

Ordinary things that anyone can do to produce extraordinary results for children. Stand for children is about building better communities one child at a time, one home at a time, one block at a time, one neighbourhood at a time, and one city at a time.

Rosie O'Donell and I met on the set of "Exit to Eden" a movie directed by Garry Marshall....the best thing that came out of that movie was our friendship. One of the things that we have in common - beside she doing an over the top impersonation of me - is our commitment to help improve the lives of children. When she created For All Kids Foundation she asked me to join her Advisory Commitee, which I was deeply honoured.
